If you’re serious about writing, you need LexisNexis

ExpertAccess

If you've been a journalist or author for any significant time you know the value of researching your topic through LexisNexis. It's the industry standard. Every big media company uses it, and there's a reason why: serious writers must do serious research and LexisNexis is one-stop shopping for all the information on your subject.

You cannot do your job without it. At least not well.

As editor in chief of the Contently Foundation for investigative reporting and someone who's been a reporter for 30 years, I cannot overstate the value of this resource. I use it constantly and there is zero substitute. But many of the freelancers I worked with didn't have access. It was too expensive and not set up for independent writers.

So I pushed the company to knock down the price, to open the door so any freelancer could afford LexisNexis, and they agreed. They see there's this huge need and are now offering their all-news package for $19.95 per month.

Still, this is a trial deal. We need to prove the wisdom of the offer, and we have only till the end of April to show a good response. So if you have questions or hesitate because of the process, please reach out to me. I will help. We can also make use of a huge team of professional librarians and researchers to find any information you might need. They're available any time, 24/7.

This isn't a sales pitch. It's a plea. Because the more freelancers have LexisNexis, the less work that I, and other editors like me, will have to do on your story after you submit it.
