It’s time to get your mind in the gutter
Clogged gutters don't just look bad—they can crack your foundation and rot your roof's fascia board. Here's the actual step-by-step (ladder, gloves, gutter scoop and all) before the damage starts.

We put $30-a-box training pants to a real test
A mom swapped her toddler's usual Huggies for Coterie's premium pull-ons for a week of naps and overnight sleep. The verdict on whether the splurge holds up (literally) is more complicated than "yes."

Question of the Day
I spent four days wading through the show floor at Messe Berlin this year, and if there's one thing IFA never runs short on, it's stuff that makes you go "wait, why doesn't everything already work like this?"
A few products stuck with me long after I left the hall:

The Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro made a $2,700 install feel like a solved problem at a fifth of the price (see our review here).

Bird ID is a genuinely fun and nerdy hobby, and the Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K is the rare gadget that makes it better without asking for a subscription.

On the wearable tech side, the beyerdynamic Aventho Y quietly out-batteries headphones twice its price—and, uniquely, they’re built to be repaired when broken rather than replaced. Pretty neat concept these days. RayNeo’s GT Max AR glasses caught our eye as the first consumer pair to claim Dolby Vision certification—display glasses are having a moment, and this is the spec that could set them apart.

And on the robot vacuum front, where every brand loves to throw out a big scary suction number, the Ecovacs Deebot X12S was the one that told us the truth about its own suction instead of hiding behind a marketing number. Another rare but refreshing thing to see.

There's a lot more where that came from, and you can read our full IFA 2026 lineup here—but these are five I’m still thinking about even after the showfloor cleared out.

Yes, it’s sad that summer’s over. But you know what’s even sadder? Starting the season again with last year’s messes. None of this takes long—and next spring, you’ll be glad you did it.

We were at IFA 2026, and Reolink's new camera has us talking
Check-in from IFA 2026 in Berlin: Reolink had a big showing. Their new OMVI 2i Ultra is wire-free, solar-powered, and automatically tracks whatever it spots. Dual lenses, up to 6 months of battery life, and no subscription needed for any of its advanced AI features. Their new Home Hub 2 even lets you search footage in plain English. It will also debut a new Custom AI Detection feature, letting you train the system to recognize scenarios specific to your home. Good stuff coming this fall.

This $699 laptop just embarrassed pricier ones
We ran it through battery tests, benchmarks, and a coffee-shop stress test, and it lasted nearly 20 hours playing video on a loop. For the price, that's shocking compared to the competition.
