| Daylight saving took my evenings. I’m taking them back. |
The clocks fell back Sunday, and now it’s dark before I’ve even closed my laptop. Fortunately, this is a fixable problem, starting with mornings: our favorite sunrise alarm fills the room with a fake dawn so convincing that our tester woke up less groggy.
Evenings are where Govee comes in. You’ve heard us talk about them before, and for good reason: the brand took home two awards in our 2026 Best of Year roundup. Last year I splurged on these color-changing bulbs, a home purchase so revolutionary that my roommate bought some, too.
The coolest feature isn’t even the dimming and color selection, though. Last weekend, about four hours into a road trip, we realized we had forgotten to turn off the lights before leaving. No problem: I did it from the app. When we came home, sure enough, the lights had flickered off from 200+ miles away.
